i9300 and Logitech G51 question

Thread Starter
Ive got a inspiron 9300 from Nov 2005ish, go 6800...1.25gb ram, 1400x900 screen, DVD DL burner, wifi/bt, 2.0 ghz pentium M, etc. My question is, if i hook up the Logtiech G51 sound system to it, will i get true 5.1 sound? Logitech says you need a sound card that can do 5.1 to get the full effect, but im not sure if the 9300 sound card will do that.

Does anyone know if it can?

I tried going to dell.com and looking up the service tag, but i cant see anything about any sound card.

Any ideas?

(btw, the Logitech G51 is a great surround system, retails for $199, but you can get it at buy.com for $84 with mail in's.) Really new system too, just came out in November.

Since it doesn't have the dedicated outputs I kind of doubt it, but a good buy on those speakers nonetheless!

maybe if you buy the audigy2 pcmcia card it will give surround sound

yep the audigy 2 zs has 5.1 output through a nifty little connector. it also has optical out. the sound integrated into the 9300: vanilla audio.
