M170 For $399

There's a ad in the paper for a XPS M170 it only shows:
"Dell XPS M170
Some Scratches
Pentium M 760 2Ghz
1Gb Ram
60Gb HDD
17" WUXGA
Windows Media Center 2005"
But does not show which video card it got...
Is this a good deal ?

I'd be just alittle suspicous. Since it's an ad in the paper, I'd see if I could go take a look see at it before buying to check up in its condition, it's getting to be a pretty old model by now and you don't know how the guy/girl treated it (especially if it has some scratches on it).

But if it turns out like my 9300, which is still going strong and still in great condition, then even if it turns out to have a 6800ultra it'd still be a pretty good deal I think.

I went and seen it and it a 6800 Ultra. and it works good besides spamware. And scratches is not that bad, so how much is it worth ?

I'd hit it for $399 if I were you. It'd make a pretty nice secondary rig, + you can put in 2GB of RAM for really cheap.

Agreed, buy it.

I'd buy it. Always nice to have a secondary around, plus you could probably resell it online for at least a couple hundred more

Yes I do (I'm on it right now!)

Upgrade it to 2gb ram and keep it around for awhile; that's what I'd do.
Don't bother spending the money on a 7800gtx either. While its a worthwhile performance increase, its WAY too expensive unless you can find it for like $150 (unlikely)

It's worth more than 600 or 700 dollar's
And are you sure i need more ram with XP MCE 2005 ?
What about games on it ?
Yes you want more RAM. RAM is cheap enough and with XP, 2GB would be nice. Sell your desktop for w/e you can go recoup some money. The video card isn't worth upgrading @ this point cause all the 7800GTX Go auctions are super expensive.
