Acer Ferrari 5002 Review

First of all I have been thinking that why here is no such Review Available for this computer up till now. Anyhow I got this one but I was expecting it to be 5005 with 2.2 Ghz but anyhow I got better price too. I got this one for around 1000 US $ where 5005 was around 1800$.

My computer Specificaitons are:

Processor: AMD Turion (tm) 64 x2 Mobile TL-50 1.6 Ghz
RAM: 2GB
HD: 120 GB (5400RPM) SATA
VGA: ATI x1600 (512 with 256 Hyper Memory
Operatting System: XP Media Center

Other specifications can be requested. I was really very much willing to have review of this laptop over this computer that i hardly found. Though I did found nice pictures of this computer in the pictures section. Uptill now I am not able to get any nice score form this comptuer as I was expecting due to which now I am thinking I should have gone for Aspire 5920G as it comes with Nvidia 8600GT and having Ferrari was not a good choice as I am casual gamer. But its appearance and overall outlook is very attractive. Specially the name: FERRARI though Ferrari is not performing upto its name. My old system was.
Acer Aspire 5651 AWLMi
Core Duo: 1.73 Ghz
RAM: 2GB
HD: 120 GB (5400 RPM) SATA
VGA: Nvidia 7600 (128 MB)

Currently Ferrari does not have Integrated TV-Tunner, Remote Control. THat 5651AWLmi had.
Tests i have been able to run are 3dMark01 and 3dMark03.
3d mark01: 16000
3d Mark03: 6800
I am really very disappointed from the scores. As i have been informed that Ferrari 4000 used to score around 15000. I dont care that which cards they are putting in. Afterall its FERRARI!! it has to be improved and great performer in comparison of other computers. I will keep on updating with passage of time.
ANd Please!! any existing owners of Ferrari 5000 please help me out with latest drivers and I have heard Omega Drivers alot; will any of them will help me out.
I play battlefield 2 often. And i was able to play it at 1024*768 at high resolution with 4x Anti Aliasing. And FPS stayed between 30 to 70. But in extreme action i experienced some jerks and then everything went fine. I had it yesterday. Today I will try running it on Local Area Network and will also try playing online how it behaves. Currently I am installing BF2 latest patch and typing on my another computer Acer Travelmate 3273WXMi.
Help regarding Drivers and overclocking tools will be much appreciated. Please I need it. I want to get some better score. At least 18000 in 3dMark01 as some reviews says so. I will try running 3dMark06 on Ferrari as well, how it sustain. I thought that in 3dMark03 it must score in 8000s. I dont know what the hell. I am affraid that BUS of its card may be 64-bit. As once Acer did it with me when I bought one laptop with Nvidia 7600.

I need help in over clocking Card of Acer Ferrari 5002. so Please Help. I would like to send you more information about product so please ask anything you like.

Recent Update. I have just Completed 3dMark06 Score and this turns out to be 2138. This I think is respectable. BUt I am not sure whats wrong with 3dMark01, and 3dMark03

I do not have 3dMark05. I will try downloading that too.

BattleField 2:

I feel Ferrari is not able to Play Battle field 2 at highest setting with 4x AntiAliasing. Frames drop sometime to 15FPS in 64 Player map. If That map is running on this machine. I am big fan of this game. And Have been playing for last few years.

In 16 Player map game work fine with Average FPS of 40. BUt in start it gives two or three jerks. And Then works fine. Some time in Game it may or may not stuck for fraction of a second. That i dont konw why happens. Processor stays between 60 to 40%. So is the case with 64-Player map. I have modified the game to run it on 64 player map all bots. And also play on my local network in home with my sibblings. But if I make Ferrari as Server it doesnt stay up to the Mark and sometime even throw you out of the game. Ya but if any other computer in my home is working as Server. Then it stays all fine. I dont know what the hell it is.

Problem in 64-Player Map doesnt stop even if Take the setting to Lowest. I dont know why it is. May be its bottle neck on Processor. I dont know. AS Ram stays around 1.3GB so its pleant of more ram, Processor Available and if its problem of Graphics it must do in Action Scenes rahter doing it Randomly.

Battle Field Special Forces (16-Player Map) works all fine too. But with 64-Player maps here is some problem I can not play that as Single Player in any case.

I have ended the game Crysis, though for dedicaated gaming i have Desktop. Ferrari can Handel Crysis well for around 20 FPS on average at low res. With resolution set to 1280*800, game was still playable but during actions it did provide feling of having less power but still no problem in game play.

Call of Duty 4 worked well at resolution of 1280*800 at low settings i played on network and single campaign. It was all well. Remember i got my computer with XP. I did try trial version of VISTA over my computer. It is great shit. Though i my self hate VISTA, other than that game performance reduced alot. I think my experience can be of help

Problem: Since 2008 January i have been trying to find out what is the problem with my Wallpaper, originally Ferrari Wallpaper changes automatically after very month. So callender has been finished. Though computers with VISTA does not have this problem yet, i believe they will have in 2009.

From Acer website i found one link to Ferrari website where i was supposed to register but contrary to ACER i had to pay for the registration and i failed to get registered and found my wallpaper working fine. Currently its showing September 2006.
