Question for cknobman

Hi ck,

Since you are the only one here with a M2, or so it appears, I was wondering if you could comment on the noise generated by the notebook. Is it noticable, is it too loud, etc?

Also, have you thought of making a full review of it? I am sure that many people would greatly appreciate it, as many here have stated that they have searched for reviews, just as I have, yet there are none to be found. You would actualy be the first to do one.

Im not really sure what is all involved in doing full review as I have only been part of the forum for a short time. I have been looking at a lot of posts in all of the notebook forums trying to get a feel for it. I will start a thread tomorrow and try to give a good detailed review and if anyone has any suggestions on what I should include I would greatly appreciate it.

As for the noise the only time it makes a significant amount of noise is when I have it plugged into the wall and play games. The fan is noticable but I take into consideration what I am doing. When on batteries or under normal use the fan rarely ever comes on and when it does it is very low and quiet.

The quick reply is greatly appreciated cknobman. I personaly am thinking on purchasing this notebook today or tomorrow. Where did you purchase it from and how much was it?

I decided to purchase mine direct from toshiba. I did this because I felt safest ordering direct and I also had the most control over the configuration I wanted. My system cost $1693 but was discounted a little because the orginal config I choose they messed up on. I looked at my order online and noticed they had the wrong hard drive so I called them up and they gave me the one I choose for no extra charge.

$1693 was before tax and shipping final was $1824

Review it for what you use your computer for.

Cover the following:
List down the specs
CPU power
Video
Screen
build quality (emphasis on construction, LCD hinge, keyboard feel)
Sales and customer service experience
Wireless if any
Pros and cons
And take pictures while you are on the roll. :-)

Enderet,
Don't think I can help "ck" with his review ... but, he seems to be doing a good job so far
"ck" Has been helpful to me ... I also could not wait for a review, and just bought the M2
Should be getting tomorrow or the next day ... problem is I am leaving for a trip on Friday ... and need to load my programs and data ... so, it will be tough for me to review...
Plus I have no experience with Notebooks ... this is my first.
But, will report back ... how it "travels" when on my trip and after.
* my problem is I am not going to be able to "break in" the battarys before I leave on a 8 + hour flight.
Have the 6 cell that came with the M2 ...
the 12 cell Primary and the slim bay combined is to give me 11.5 hours at "normal" this should be interesting.

I have a iGo Juice just in case. (www.igo.com)
