Apple iBook G3 ??'s

Thread Starter
Hey Guys,

I just bought a used Apple (white) iBook G3 from ebay. The system specs are as follows:

800 ghz G3
256 MB of RAM
30 GB HDD
32MB ATI mobile graphics card
CD ROM drive
OS X.4 installed Tiger

The system runs well and I want to first upgrade the RAM. Do you think maxing the RAM out at the 640MB the system supports will make a huge different. I paid 300 bucks for the system, did I get ripped?

You got a system that is fair for the price.

Upping the RAM to at least 512MB will help you indeed, especially if you want to keep various applications open at the same time.

512 will be fine, 640 will be even better and should make the system pretty usable for internet, email, documents, and such. :-)
