Better Performance? PCG 7A2L

Hey everybody,
I have been looking into getting a new notebook, I currently have a Vaio PCG 7A2L and it has been fine for the last three years. I don't like what I've read
or seen with Vista and would like to stay with XP.

My question is, what can I do to enhance my performance?
Is it possible to put in a Core Duo?
I use my notebook to design websites and do computer graphics (not 3D).
