D520 Processor Upgrade Question

According to dell tech support it is possable to upgrade my laptop from its t5500 processor to a T7200 although they wont give me specific information without me buying the processor with a new motherboard(expensive!).

ive searched, but cant find any guides on d520 processor uprgrades. i just wanted to verify that it can be upgraded to the T7200 , if so, are there any dip switches that must be flipped or will the motherboard automatically pickup the upgrade. also, will i need a different cooling assembly or anything?

i have A06 bios

any other tips?

I'd update the bIOS before the CPU upgrade, but any Merom CPU should work in the D520 without any extra-ordinary steps. No DIP switches or jumpers or anything like that, just update your BIOS to the latest version.

Is the A06 the newest BIOS? Sweet, i may just use a t2500 with the 2mb L2, i dont think the 4 meg L2 will make THAT much of a difference
