Puzzling: can't find wireless network adapter on HP dv9005us

Man, this is frustrating. The wireless network adapter doesn't show up in network connections. I have downloaded the driver twice from HP. Can't find the program in Add/Remove programs. I have spent 30 minutes in the HP chat with a rep that tried to help me. I have turned the wireless switch on.

No matter what I do, I can't get the wireless to appear. I may have deleted something at some point.

open the compartment remove and take out the wifi card then reseat it
