cannot play counter strike

i have a 1.6 ghz core duo with 1gb of ram.
the chipset is 945gm

i installed counter strike and when i try to play, it just crashes.

is there any driver or anything i can download to be able to play?

make sure direct X is updated and also update video drivers.
