Hi i need help...i try everything i could and seems like nothing seems to work now and nothing seems to be found..any way i came across this site..

well i am having a problem with my heatsink where fan wont able to spin...and none used to spin before but i downloaded a Get Thermal and my ddr and cpu fan works except heatsink fan which is also vga i think..and i did gave to tech guy and he also replaced with a new heatsink but problem is still a same ? any idea what could be a problem..cause it gets hot and then shutdowns...right now it stays for few hours cause of cpu fan and ddr..otherwise whenever i start my clevo d900t no fan seems to work..until i active from get thermal progz.. but i still cant figure out how to start the heatsink fan..it just wont spin at all...Does Anyone had problem in past and maybe solved it ?? or is graphic Problem ? i also have removed and reput it back and also i try drivers too...but still it wont spin at all...

Get Thermal
CPU - CPU temp (2 fans and a big heat sink)
System - DDR2 temp (1 fan but no heat sink)
VGA - 2 temps for Graphics Card (1 fan and a small heat sink)

Sounds like the fan on your Graphics Card is not working. What is the temps showing for VGA on Get Thermal? Fn-F2 should set all the fans to maximum.

Well u know where the Small Heatsink where the graphic card is..thats what is not working well for some reason even if it has been put a new one? does a graphic card controls that ? and what kind of board controls that fan ? i have get thermal but it wont spin at all..and i try everything in get thermal to turn the vga fan on but still no luck..and others fan works well..but due to this fan not working i cant play game cause when i play game it gets hot and shuts down in about half an hour..i remeber when i updated a chipset and it started to work..but then after restart or standby..fan wont come back..is something which controls this fan ???? cause i already have put a new one...and what is something called thermal paste ? something like a tube..does that make temp improved or also makes fan works ?

Well the heatsink comes in contact with the graphics chip and the fan blows the heat off the heatsink. The vent is right right below the Card Reader on the left side. It sucks the air from the bottom and it blows out the left side.

Yea true..and guess what ..while messing with the get thermal program and also putting dvd disc..and for some reason it loads heavy..made the vga fan run at full speed then i could control from get thermal but after restart..now it wont spin ? what could be this weird problem ?

Can it be harddrive ? or is it graphic card ? cause i already have put new heatsink fan cost me 75 bucks..and my store tech says graphic card for this laptop cost 500 to 600..is it true ?

HOw much does geforce go 6800 ultra pci-e costs ?

Well I'm not sure what the problem is. The original fan for the graphics card does not make much noise unless it's going full blast. And yes a new graphics card will cost at least $500-600 if you can find one. It is specific to the Clevo based laptops. As long the VGA fan shows 30% during normal operations then it is must likely doing it's job.

Did you try Fn + F2 ?

Exotic Guy....

Did you try pressing the Fn key and the F2 key at the same time? Try them a few times. You should hear the fans kick into high gear, go back to very low speed, etc. The first time you do it, pay attention to the noise from the front left corner, you should hear that fan begin blowing faster. It's hard to hear even when it is working.

If you can get it to blow, then you should be OK. Just remember every time you boot the computer that you have to press the Fn+F2 keys again until you hear the video card fan blowing. If you do that you will not have to bother with the Get Thermal program - unless you just like using it.

You may want to call Tech Support. The problem with that is that they will want you to send it in for them to check it for you. Ask them if there is a way to tell if the fan control for the video card it functioning without having to send it to them. Since you know that the fan works (because it is new) then you need to find out if the fan controller is working. If you have the skill to splice that fan in with one of the others so that the video fan is always on at 100%, you could try that. Just don't do that unless your warranty is already expired!!

Good Luck!!
