Dell XPS m1530 Review - Page 3

I'm glad you like your XPS. I, on the other hand, did not think much of mine. It was similarly equipped but I had the new LED panel. I felt that the quality and craftsmanship was shoddy and unstable. The Fingerprint reader was set deep and rarely ever worked. The webcam was substandard quality, and the touchpad was jumpy and stuck. The keyboard was never "right" i just couldn't get the buttons to flow sometimes when typing fast. It was a decent system. I had it for about a month before I couldn't take it anymore and went back to the Studio line with better specs and everything worked so well, it amazes me how Dell let these new styled M1530's be their flagship line instead of the Studio, which in my opinion, are better built and equipped.

Yea I never use the fingerprint reader on mine. But it is a slick machine..very slim. With the UXGA I have its a definite travel upgrade to the clunky 9400 I used to have. You just have to get used to the screen which takes a week or so.

Just a quick update- It's been almost a year sie purchase and my XPS m1530 is still running like a champ. I have yet to encounter the headaches associated with the nVidia 8600GT GPU. Perhaps it's because I bought mine right after the model was released?
