new laptop

I was wondering if I could have some help designing an excellent video gaming laptop for 2000 - 3000 dollars. I don't want to have to build one by myself because I am not that experienced. I currently have a alienware m7700 that I customized, but I have had so many problems with it that I think I'm going to get a new one. I would hope to have dx10, hopefully a dual core so that it won't be outdated for a couple years. If anyone could point me to a good computer or even customize one for me that would be great. Thanks!

New Alienware laptops are coming out soon, it would be a great idea to go for one of those.

I do like alienware, but they are so expensive, especially the new laptops. but I will keep that in mind

i would personlly go for either sager or the dell m1710/m1730 ..you would find a good deal with m1710 but it would lack dx10

The xps m1730 ranks pretty good but it's extremely bulky...sager is a bit thinner than the xps but dunno if it performs as well as the xps. As for the outdated part....DX10.1 compatible graphic cards are already being scheduled for release....and quad cores are in the field now.....so all we can do is just buy our "dream" machines and be satisfied for the moment...it aint gonna last...

they actually aren't if you compare configs to other vendors. this is a common misconception.

My pick would be the Sager 5792 w/8800M GTX if you live in the states.

I had the dell XPS 1730 for nearly 4 weeks before returning it because of the stability/performance issues with the SLI setup [and I was far from being the only one]

Unfortunately the sager isn't available where I live, but the reviews of the 5791 were excellent,so a person would think the 5792 would be good as well [just with much better 8800 v 8700 graphics]
Sagers component upgrade prices seem very reasonable too.

ye if sager was available in the uk i would seriosuly consider buying one myself , also about alienwares prices ..because of competition from dell/sager and competitve prices they have come to be more sensible..tho for me personally i would never buy product from alienware
