FSC Amilo M 1420 - Battery charging indicator flashes red and shutdown in 60sec

Hi

I can't power up FSC Amilo M 1420 anymore. When I press power on button, laptop battery charging indicator flashes red and then shutdown in 60sec, just after boot logo. Battery is 3yrs old. Same behavior when battery is detached, and laptop is running on PS adapter.
Also I noticed then cooling fan is not spinning when laptop is booting.

Detail from manual:
The indicator flashes red: The battery is nearly empty.

I'm confused why indicator flashes red when battery is not present.

What do you guys think? Is it battery?

3 years old battery? sure, i would say it is time for another one. Check the output of ur adaptor while u r at it

Well it is your luck that you had the battery going good fofr 3 yeras .I had my Toshiba laptop for 2 yerars running battery and the next 1 for 2 MONTHS ! it is time you change your battery - it the highest time abterry can work.
