Thank you all for your comments and information in this forum. I too was first impressed by the voodo, alienware, and gl-l's paintjobs, fancy websites, and dooda talks. Then, after reading this forum, I learned that underneith all that beautiy, all of them pale in comparision to the sheer performance and power of a sager.
I have ordered an 8790-S notebook just now, spec'ed at:
17" WXGA
3.4ghz northwind
2048MB RAM
60gb 7200
wireless lan
ALLLLLL this and still sub $3000!!!!!
To compare, the alienware can't even be compared. First, it doesn't have a 17" wide screen avail. The videocard options are 9600 or go5600. And the max ram is only 1gb. Oh man .... and if you max out the specs (except for the pentium extreme ed.), the 51m is still slower and costs about $1000 more!!!!

good luck with it it's a hell of a machine - you should have gotten an extra hard drive instead of the 2g ram - but have fun you made a wise decision going with a sager.
