Like Babe Ruth, I'm raising my controller in the air, calling the shot. (Granted, Babe Ruth called the homerun before it happened, but let's not sweat the details). I'm going to go on record and say what we're all thinking, but way too afraid to admit:

The Xbox 360 won 2007. The console might not have sold the most units or captured the attention of the mass media, but as a platform, it's provided the most complete experience of the year while executing titles with the most successful track record.

I'm just not sure...with the exception of Halo, which I've hated since Halo 1, they really only had Blue Dragon, and Mass Effect that was impressive this year.
Each xbox console IMO has been completely reliant on Halo. If you look at which division is in the hole more though, Playstation is still ahead, the xbox project was up to like $8 billion in debt before they decided to extend the warranty another year(adding another 1.5billion) where PS3 while not successful itself so far, has the PS2 to fall back on to fix their $650million debt, which is still outselling everything but the Wii.

I think 2008 will be the year of determination because the "exclusives" finally start getting released, a good Final Fantasy(7) game is going to beat halo sales any day =)

In the publics eyes, not the gamers Wii has won, 2 Christmas' in a row they have been extremely hard to find, that's only happened with the PS2 before, and we see how successful it still is.

I don't see what people love about the Wii, in my history of playing on it I thought most of the games sucked

I thought bowling was great...zelda was ok, I sold mine for double what I paid for it so I think it was a good investment =D

While I'd love to play an RPG over a mindlessshooteverythingyousee FPS, I'm going to have to disagree here, mainly because the majority of gamers want to talk trash on how much you suck and how great your mama was last night, despite the fact their testicles haven't dropped yet.

You really can't do that in an RPG.

Actually you might be surprised..Halo doesn't even make it into the top selling games list, final fantasy 7 placed firmly into it. Of course pokemon is the king of the list, who would've thought that....eh

Not to mention halo will never be as big as the mmorpg community...rpg's are still in charge, we just have to let them have some fun to or they go cry to their mama's =)

Since when are handhelds consoles???

Not really a fair comparison cosidering handheld games are usually 1/2-1/4 the price of console games on release.

Wikipedia. Heh.

Let's just pretend it's not from Wiki anyway. Good. Now that's out of the way...

MMORPG is a huge misnomer and should be labled MMOWOT.

That's right, Massively Multiplayer Online Wastes Of Time.

That is all.

EDIT: I call bullshit on this list anyway, as Ocarina of Time isn't on there, anywhere. That game made more "greatest games of all time" lists then any of those above. It was GameSpots first perfect 10.

That list is shit.

I do agree about changing it to MMOWOT but if we used that title we would also have to include games such as halo 2, and halo 3 since it's no longer limited to RPG's

I edited my post, just in case you didn't see it regarding the wiki list.

Wait wait, what about Call of Duty 4? Granted it is multi-console, but I read somwhere that almost 60% of the sales went to Xbox 360, followed by PC then PS3.
