Well, Im currently waiting on a callback from Sager Tech, but I thought I would post my problem here in hopes that I could get it figured out.
Being a newb when it comes to Raid, I ordered my 8790 w/o an OS and I thought "well since im not getting the OS pre-installed, I guess I dont need to order the raid as well, since I can set it up when I install XP." Well, did I put myself in a world of hurt.
First off, I didnt get a Raid Floppy. No problemo, I saw raid drivers on the Sager 8790 driver list. Second (and this is the big one), I dont have the FastTrak 100 "Lite" boot screen that the manual says I should see.
This makes me think that I need to update my bios, unfortunately, I cant a find FastTrak 100 "Lite" Bios update. I went to Promise Tech's website, and they only list the FastTrak 100.. and its not the same version shown in the manual (it looks older).
So, anyone got any suggestions or knows where I can go to update my bios?
Roger
HAHAHAHA... heh... eh... well now, ok I fixed it. It seems that Sager is now shipping the 8790 with the Raid settings OFF if you select not to have Raid. I had read so many posts about people having to turn it off when they only had one disk, that I had assumed that mine was turned on by default. Toggled the switch to ON and BOOYAH! I got Raid. YAY ME!
