To get around the Power On Password on a HP 530 Notebook (NOT A OMNI 530) All you have to do is take out the RTC battery and hold your power button down for 45 secs.

You can download the Documentation to the HP 530 Notebook i got from HP themselfs.

The reason im posting this is that i bought this notebook from a friend that was moving away and i dont have anyway to get ahold of the guy, So after endless hours researching on the internet to find out how to reset the power on password i just couldnt find nothing for this laptop, the research turned up every freakin other laptop other than mine, I did however come across one freakin forum that try to tell me that i had to call HP and give them $35 bucks and then they would fax me a documentation so i could just turn around and send it back to them with proof of purchase and a witness signiture...Uhhhh...NO!, I wasnt goin to do that, i have no proof and i damn sure didnt have the 35 dollars after forking over the dough to buy the laptop, But i did go ahead and call HP and they woman on the phone said that my warranty was over but she said if she was doing it her self she would take the RTC Battery out, But that didnt make sense to me since the posts i found on other forums said that HP had a EEPROM chip on the motherboard just for the password and i would have to send it to HP and have them reset it, But guess what, removing the RTC battery did the job, I was excited. So i hope that some one with the same problem finds this and can use it cause i looked for 3 days with no luck.
