Where are the 8800m video cards? - Page 2

Ah, I couldn't wait anymore either. So I ordered a Clevo M570RU with a 8800M GTX and way better upgrade possibilities than the Inspiron 9400.

Well I am no surprised that they are only 30% faster. I think it´s tough to surpass the 8800GTX/Ultra considering what kind of kickass cards these are. I own a 8800GTX myself overclocked to Ultra speeds and it´s one helluva fast card. I think I will go SLI soon and get another 8800GTX They are cheap now.

just a heads up guys dell has currently locked all discounting of spare parts that means no one is going to be rock bottom pricing on the new 8xxx series vid cards. I made some calls and the current 8xxx series cards which I got a quote for over 600 for them (though I did talk spare parts down to 4 and change. but don't expect to see the 8xxxGTX at cheap prices like the 7950's

Dell is going to announce an upgrade program path similar but not in all ways to the XPS desktop motherboard program this was announced back at Digital Life 07. I still strongly believe that they will honor some kind of upgrade for system owners but its likely that ordering one from spare parts will cost you an arm and a leg.

I sure wish they would announce it already. I am tired of waiting.

It's official, Dell sucks. Mobile 9x00M cards will probably be out before the 8800M is available in a Dell. Check out this ASUS notebook with a 9500M GS.

I mean the truth is what do we expect dell is Alienware now and they don't want to compete against themselves so regardless of what they say about the XPS line it will always be behind Alienware as far as cutting edge tech. Which kinda stinks cause they charge cutting edge prices for middle of the road tech now.

Dell has always put a starter package out like they did with 6800ultra to 7800gtx .. the 7900gs to 7950gtx .. but i really hope these 8800m come out asap bcoz its agony not wanting the 8700m gt sli but might have to go for them .. from what ive read around the web .. i wish i could buy a sager with 8800m but imo you just cant turn away from the great looks of a dell xps machine as a gaming rig

I don't know if they're still testing or sitting on their chairs looking at the ceiling, but they need to get it going and fast.

Dude the 9 series cards are already almost going to come out and on the mobile side they're still working on 8 series cards =.= whats the hold up? take a desktop card, disable half the stuff and call it a mobile version. Like.... how hard CAN it be? =P
