I saw that, but being they are no where to be found on the web and this guy is in China.... not sure. He has good feedback though.. I dont know

never had any issues with chinese sellers (up until now and knocking wood). Only issue need to be aware off is custom fees, us custom might flag every items coming from outside and pop some tax on top.

u were right about looking at the feedbacks as well for reference. those hot cpus r being selling in europe for about 620euro!

how about newegg?

cheers ...

also, this hot gateway machine is being selling (if one could get a hand on it via uk market) for almost as much as the dell counterpart. I guess gateway is trying to recuperate from UNDERpricing in usa. And i second everyone with getting the machine then performing the upgrade oneself for 2 things:
. one is creating the "bonds" (chuck, so emotionally) with the comp (missing the m68xx machine experience)
. it is still coming up much much cheaper than any current counterparts

cheers ...

That looks like an easy mod to do.
I am going to try to find the part number.
After modifying my dell with a new gpu and other parts I am thinking this wont be to tuff.
If anyone wants to play with a pretty cool free facial recognition program for security try this out.

Not as good as biometrics, but it does work well and appears to have no bugs. I have had multiple co workers try to sit down infront of the computer but no one can gain access but me.

are the 250gb drives almost all WD or are there hitachi and seagates as well? I'm gonna be getting one of these and my parents are shipping it to me (I'm in Iraq) and I want to order the second drive for RAID and obviously want to have same drives.
As long as the drives have the same specifications, 250gb, 5400rpm 8mb cache sata, then you can still use them for RAID even though they are not the same brand.

I went and upgraded my T5450 to a T9300 this weekend. It was very easy, though you have to be carefull w/the small screws.

I also pulled my two 60 gb Hitachi's, and returned them for a single 250 gb WD Scorpio, and together w/the stock WD 250 gb Scorpio HD, set them up as a RAID 0.

I've got an Intel 1 gb Turbo Memory card coming Monday. For $25.00, what the heck.

What Nvidia driver have people been getting the best benchmarks with?

I used Arctic Silver 5.

With no load, I'm getting around 40C for Core 0, and 35C for Core 1.

Definitely keep us in the loop when you get all that put together. I'm curious if the Turbo Memory will actually do anything, given how well specced the lappie is to begin with.

I have had a rain check for one of these for $1199 for a month. I looked this morning and the store was finally showing in stock. I got to the store when they opened and they only had one. So I am now the proud owner of P6831FX! I already have my 4GB dual channel, spare 250GB and a 1920x1200 screen from Dell. So I have a busy day planned

That is a great link, I have examined it thoroughly already! One interesting thing, mine came with the T5550 instead of the T5450. So 1.83 instead of the 1.6. I am still going to get a 9300, but that makes it a little less urgent.
