Hi Dell-Spike!

Congrats on the promotion!

Have you every looked at the mx700? Any opinions?
I have an MX-500 and an MX-700 (use the 500 when I'm away from home or when the 700 is recharging). Love'em both.

I use the MX 700 and MX 900 I can tell you right off the bat the wireless mice make it difficult to make precision movement due to there weight but the convenience of not having to deal with wires or taking up another usb port for me (mx 900) is extremely important over having dual optics to rule my mousepad.

Is it advisable to get a surge protector for my laptop (and if so which ones are good)?
Also what's a (relatively) inexpensive, good key lock?

Thanks

Thanks for the reviews Dell-Machina and KevDA!

Machina, the weight of the Mx700 was a sticking point for me too, until I put some teflon tape on the mouse feet. Now it slides around quite easily. I wear through tape pretty fast though, I need to start buying it in bulk hehe.

I've tried the mx700 and liked it a lot. It's not good for gaming, but is nice for daily use. I do believe you can open it up and take out a weight like the mx500 has. Generally with those heavier mouses, a nice mouse pad is essential.

I wonder how I survived the ball mouse w/o a mouse pad... Oh yeah cleaning, lots and lots of cleaning. Those dreadful old days......

The MX900 overall is smoother but... sporting 2 AA batteries its packing more weight than the MX700 which a little teflon wont ease

Actually, believe it or not, I prefer the heavier mouse. 'Course, I'm not into FPS games so that may make a difference. What I'm using for a mouse pad is an old Wacom Graphire tablet. The surface is a nice low-friction plastic. I put a sheet of paper underneath for the optical sensor to reflect off of - works like a charm.
