Kde 4.0

Thread Starter
KDE 4.0 has some promising features... but I think it's going to have some major problems when it finally releases (in a few days).

Amarok 2.0 is gonna rock tho...

but with all the kde 4 hype, it looks like it may be my next window manager just b/c i wanna test it out....

im a fan of gnome and E17... kde never really appealed to me (seemed too bloated) but hopefully they made some fixes in kde 4

I never really stated a purpose for this thread... but i just wanted to hear your opinions.

never been much of a kde fan myself but i can live with it if it just so happens my disto of choice executes kde better than something else (ie... PCLOS). That said I never got the point of all this KDE4 hype. I mean there was some hype over Gnome 2.20 with its features but never as much as with KDE4.

I prefer KDE and I'm looking forward to 4, but I've been meaning to give gnome a fair shake too.

well if they got rid of the bloat (which they supposedly did) having it compiled as well should make your system fly in terms of speed.

Heh I will be waiting to see here, we are going to have to update our WM thread sometime soon I think. Adding more details with screenshots might not be bad either, what yall think?

I like that idea SeaBlade though I am the newest Linux guy so would have to just snipe comments at distro's.

sounds good to me

Hmm the snipe comments I think ABF also started a flamepit thread for somewhere

Nah the point of that thread is to be entirely constructive and preferably give strengths of each WM, and a basic introduction to them.

By the way nothing wrong with being new to Linux, always got an opinion

I was just saying that I have no real background in it use Kubuntu and PCLinuxOS. Played with other distros a week here and there and that is about it. Ask Conda he gets the most random phone calls from me when I break stuff.

Thats ok, don't need to understand it to express an opinion, just keep it constructive If you don't like something try suggesting improvements is the main thing.
