Hey Guys,

I have a NP5760-V whose power adapter stopped charging the battery. I've determined that it is not the power adapter, but the motherboard. My computer is now out of warranty (I bought it from discountlaptops and the company they outsourced their technical support to went bankrupt so now I don't have any technical support - grrrr) so I am looking to see if I can do the repair myself, but I cannot take the darn thing apart! I undo all the screws and take out all of the components that I can, but I still cannot split the case in two along the seam that runs along the side of the case. While the edges of the case seem like they're loose and ready to split apart, something in the middle still seems to be holding the case together. I've double checked that I removed all of the screws, but still no luck.

Here's a link to some pictures of my laptop: http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z301/Chase90007/ . I've circled in red the area that I want to get at, which is also the area that seems to be sticking and playing a big role in keeping the case together.

Lastly, after talking to some technical support people they told me that although the problem is most likely with my motherboard, it can probably be repaired because the problem is probably a piece that can be soldered on and that piece is located in the red circle in one of the pictures I gave the link to. Unfortunately I forget what this piece is called. Basically it's the piece that connects the power supplies to the motherboard. Does anyone happen to know what piece it is and what its part number is and where I can get it for the NP5760-V?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
