DV9700 Screen / Display HELP!!

Thread Starter
I just recieved my new 9700t laptop. Its a nice laptop, btw.

My problem is that I ordered with the upgraded monitor (17.0" WSXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1680 x 1050) and it is very small in the text area.

Is there anyway I can lower the solution without the fuzzy look when i did it in the control panel?

Otherwise I would have to return the laptop =( this comes to the next question.... if i return, how good is the 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900) - standard display?

They have a 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition Ultra HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900) but its a $125 upgrade...really worth it?

Im only using it for business and not gaming.

Thanks for all your help!

i personally would keep the 1680 x 1050, and readjust the fonts and cpi in the display manager

Topic bumping I have an external monitor that is 1440 x 900 and it looks fine. The OP just discovered one of the classic "problems" with using ultra-high resolutions on not so big screens.

hipertec, if you have not tried it yet, I highly recommend qhn's solution. It is very easy to adjust the font size...I particularly recommend setting a "custom" size, somewhere in between the automatic bump-up, as to me, that is a bit too drastic. Remember that you can also adjust the size of your icons as well.
