Well im trying to justify the cost (which i dont have a problem with) with the ammount of time i will spend on it...

I do see myself watching a LOT of blu-ray movies on it. BUt gaming? Should I take my $4K and build my DT in March?

Congrats Packer in phase 8 for me now.. Can't wait to get my hands on this thing. What would be a good site to upload decent videos instead of youtube.

STEVE I would go for it, YOU CAN DO IT. But again if your only using it for work and a slight bit of travel I would say desktop. Some new GPU's should be released in March Maybe April for the desktop, maybe even a 9800gtx.

Steve, I'd wait for the desktop. I don't think you can justify the cost with how much you'll actually use it.

@ Steve ... I said "Go For it," but it was your birthday then. Wait until March ... if you still want the notebook, get it. BUT ... you're probably better off with a killer desktop and one of the notebooks you already have.

man oh well for me i got some crap email from alienware about the smart cell battery being sold out and i was refunded my $100 like or whatever..guess i gotta get one later.

anyways..... im stilll stuck in phase6 though grr it needs to move ord date 1/11/08 -- est -- 2/1/08.

The page is weird though, sigh, oh well cant wait to see some peeps put some screenshots up atleast and benchies etc

(Come on PHASE 6 ALIEN(Alienware Integration Technician) we're slacking, time to step it up. lol joking.. but yeah.. i been in 6 for awhile im expecting a leap soon......... hehe the est seems to be almost dead on... give or take slightly..

Yeh I agree. I was letting my birthday / e-penis get in the way of what I really would use. My past two notebooks I've purchased (in sig) I pretty much bought to brag about. I didn't really have a "use" for them.

Ouch Slipped back into pHase 6 for 2 days now. I was in Phase 8. I was told it was shipping out on the 30th and 31st. Emailed AW and no repsonse as of yet.

Maybe teh website hasn't updated yet. I hope it ships soon.

dont fret i believe em, when i changed my screen they said still est feb1st..

i called yeterday an d played dumb ughhh why is mine still in phase6--they said hold on and came back and said yeah it's passed the 200point etc and it shipped, friday....hmmmm...pretty dead on to me, bravo.

Thank 311Alien, I hope your right lol.. I feel like a little kid waiting for christmas. Made it home last night froma business trip and I am lookig forward to bumping that huge XPS of mine lol.

hey hey well ium mega happy! my system shipped today and the 2nd is estimated delivery date but its 2 packages below are rhe reference on them both

i know the fikrst package is the lappy but the 2nd looks nlike logitech speakers and i dont recall ordering speakers, lol where could i see exactly what i ordered? been looking on the AW site and cant find an invoice anywhere.. anyways im happy!!
