Which of these is better? And are there better options than these?

Thanks.

If you go with Centrino Duo vs Turion X2, I go with X2. Make sure it is the TL chip model and not TK (that is celeron version of AMD)

But if you go with Core 2 Duo vs X2..I say go with C2D that is way better.....

I agree that the C2D is a way better choice than AMD. AMD is playing catch-up right now with Intel. Intel is the dominating performer and I believe they will be for a long time to come. The new penryn line is awesome.

I think that information is a little wrong.

Centrino Duo USES a Core 2 Duo (C2D)

So we could say that
Centrino Duo = Core 2 Duo (C2D)

So, yes, the Centrino Duo is better thanTurion 64 X2

Don't believe the hype, I have both and in real world comparisons (unless your running benchmark programs), your not going to notice much difference running everyday software. If anything, you should focus on the GPU or Ram, which you will see more of a difference.

I go for TurionX2, its suitable for outside usage. Plus i dont really recommend AMD CPU combine with nVidia MCP chipset.

However also depends on your usage, AMD and be good on certain part and so do C2D

amd powered laptops are cheaper than the intel version with same thing going for them, so unless you need like those extra what 10fps for your speical snowflake eyes, then go intel

to save some bones to pump up the ram and still get preformence, go amd
