This configuration provides the capability to run multiple apps and windows simultaneously in WUXGA mode (great for work) AND the power to play hi-end games at lower resolutions.
Throw in the Athlon 3400+/3700+, and you get all the muscle of the Pentium 4 EE, but without the excess heat it generates.
Now, dat's MY baby!!!!
that does sound like a great machine. but you'll have to run games outside of native.
... and i heard that's bad. *shrug*
its probably one of the biggest reasons i didn't buy an 8890 2 months ago.
i wouldn't mind that machine myself. Because (without experiencing it) I think i'm going to be running a lot of games outside of native res - ... i really couldn't be bothered with "video quality" and "ghosting". ... I mostly play RPGs anyways. Soooo ... yeah. I'd like an AMD FX chip in my notebook. but ... the wait.. i can't wait.
I'm leaving for japan at the end of May. Which means that laptop has to be in my hands a month before I leave. (Since its arriving tomorrow, things are going according to plan). Sucks that I don't have time to wait. Then again, if I did have time to wait, i wouldn't be getting a notebook - i'd be keeping my desktop, and putting my notebook money towards an apartment. (rent). ... soooo yeah. the only reason i need a notebook is because i'm leaving, and therefore i cannot wait.
I waited till (almost) the last possible minute to get the 8790... i'll buy another notebook in a year or so if i really like this one, and then we'll see whats up.
hopefully that config'll be out by this summer eh....
