being a non believer of snake oil, I always thought cpuidle was snake oil for the most part... today I finished reinstalling windows on my dads comp and set it up so it could do s3 sleep mode to conserve energy....anyway I had my seasonic power angel hooked up and looking at the wattage it read 112watts about while on, and I figured lets see if good old cpuidle actually does anything.... so after a couple of seconds installing it I got it running and when enabled it goes down to 74watts while no programs are running and nearing 80watts when doing basic web surfing...
so for anyone wondering cpuidle though its a good bit outdated and has not much support for newer boards to my knowledge does in fact work
