Trying to figure out if this is a video issue or not...help please.

Everytime I play games such as FF8 on my PC when i exit the game I get a black screen...my cursor is still visible and I know very well that behind the black screen that my desktop is still active. I try ctrl alt del and anything to try and get it back up but no luck...

I had googled this issue and some people have had this issue with nvidia 7s and 8 series cards....im still on my old but still strugglin 9300 with my 6800 go card.

i have rivatuner and my nvidia mobileforce drivers that are version...91.28

and these drivers have run perfectly for me....with the exception of this issue...which is not just related to exiting FF8...there have been a few other occasions with other 3d applications where my screen goes black but the cursor is still very much visible....

any insight or solution to my problem?

You might try reinstalling the drivers, described in the thread POSTED HERE.

If that doesn't work, then I would suggest trying a newer driver. One I would suggest at least STARTING with would be 94.20 (download available HERE). If that doesn't solve your issues, move up to 169.04.

Remember, when reinstalling drivers, ALWAYS follow the directions I pointed you to.

If none of that solves the problem, it may be a game-related issue. I'm thinking that a newer driver will solve your issues though.
