Yes, you can upgrade the CPU, as outlined HERE.

You can upgrade to either a Core Duo, or a Core 2 Duo. The maximum speed Core Duo you can upgrade to is the T2700 (2.33GHz) and the maximum Core 2 Duo you can upgrade to is the T7600 (2.33GHz). Either would suit you well, but for the best price to performance ratio, I'd personally recommend the Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz) or the T7400 (2.16GHz). If you want to go all-out, then go for the T7600.

Fenuxx is right, you can upgrade. I also agree with Fenuxx's recommendations.

Thanks, you guys are brilliant! ... and quick!

I forgot to say that Dell Denmark also told me that it could not be upgraded? How can they say that, if it is no problem at all?

Thanks again!

Unfortunately, with Dell, one person will say one thing, and another person will say the exact opposite. The funny part about it is that BOTH stories you get will be "company policy" and the "definitive answer".

Also, unless you purchase an overpriced processor from Dell, your warranty is technically voided. That could also be causing them to tell you it can't be done, to save your warranty.

I got my 9400 (E1705) with a T7200, and for reasons I still can't figure out, bought the T7600 for nearly $500. I got no noticeable gain in performance. Go with the T7200.
