Use Vinyl Dye.
It comes like spray cans, but it is not paint in the traditional sense.
Dont use Krylon!!
The vinyl die produces a chemical reaction w/ the plastic that turns it black.
The benefit being that repeated coats dont build up in layers.
I did my hd-dvd drive.
Im usually very good at this stuff!
I did a shit job.
I didnt clean the plastic properly, and didnt paint it all that well.
Consequently there is some uneven texturing.
Put on the right kinds of plastic it doesnt chip or flake.
While some plastics it doesnt take to so well.
But your in luck, 360 plastic is perfect for this!
Bottom line I did a shit job, at 1-2 feet the defects are noticeable, from 3-4 feet away you cant tell the difference between my drive and those special edition black hd-dvd drives MS gave to (partners/developers/press??).
And had I done a professional job of painting, u prolly could not even tell up close.
The best place to get this stuff is at auto parts stores, not home depot.
There are like 3 brands that come recomended, cant remember any right now though.
Or you can pony up 500-1000$ + to get one of the special black edition ones off ebay.
Would work hella pimp and easy on the wireless adapter!!!!!
Getting the hd-dvd apart was a chore for me.
