The X48 chipset is Intel's next contribution to the enthusiast PC market.

The intent of this thread is to give system builders a "one stop" reference that will include the latest information regarding X48 motherboards.

Do you know any specific details about the X48? Post it here - along with supporting links.

NBF Desktop Mods/NBF Admins - please post any updates you deem appropriate.

Buck and I have bought the just released Asus Rampage Formula.

I got mine from Zipzoomfly Friday night.

Buck got his from Newegg

I should have mine Wednesday.

Just posted info on the Rampage Extreme - the DDR3 X48 board from ASUS.

Also posted a link to a review done by Elite Bastards. They used a Q6600 in the review testing...would like to have seen the QX9770 (QX9650 as a min).

Their conclusion:

I'd love to imagine a world where this kind of motherboard was affordable to all and sundry, but realistically that's not going to happen, so all I can say is that, as of right now, this is pretty much the best Intel motherboard money can buy.

First thing I'd do to that Rampage Extreme... Take off that crappy heatsink thing.
