Took the plunge, m1530 in production now

Hemmed and hawed about a solid-state hard drive and decided that would be a requirement on my next machine. $800 for 64GB is a tough nut to swallow. Dell will offer it on the 1530 but you have to ask via the phone.

Looks like a great setup. I was looking at the 1530 myself, but with everything that I wanted it would have been way out of my budget. I bet you can't wiat for it to get to your house.

By the way, that comes out to $1,459 if you take out Office (which I had to buy but didn't want to buy). This is what my desktop machine cost me 18 months ago and it isn't nearly as powerful. Amazing!

OUCH! It still hurts at the wallet. =) You'll be very happy with it though the wxga+ screen is crisp, and very bright, and has a slightly better viewing angle than the wsxga screen. Should also perform very well with the 8600M GT with that resolution, grats.

I also just ordered mine a couple of days ago. With Dells $594 off and my EEP mine came out to $1607 plus I had a free $200 gift card so my total was $1407 plus tax. Here is the config I got

dell seems to be quick witht hier shipping, well for anything that's not new to the market. You'll may get yours quicker depending on where you live. I got mine about 10 days early

i placed it eArly jan, and i had a 1530 but my escalations rep offered to return it for me to get the higher res screen. is nice. i like it

Thats what I did with mine, they exchanced it for no charge to the WSXGA screen...
