Update Leaves Early Blu-Ray Adopters Out in the Cold

It looks like early Blu-ray adopters might be getting the shaft when the Blu-ray Disc Association introduces BD Profile 2.0. Advancing technology or not, people that plopped down their hard earned money for those players might not be too thrilled.

When BetaNews asked developers of BD Live whether they were concerned about a backlash from early adopters who supported the format from the beginning, we were told: "They knew what they were getting into." BDA President Andy Parsons echoed that sentiment at the Blu-ray press conference Monday, telling BetaNews that it's normal for new technology to change and older

hardware to become obsolete.

As long as this doesn't hurt PS3 I could care less. Like the story says Early Adopters know what they are getting into. If it knocks the PS3 out oh well.

why is that? they put out some of the best and accurate info on pc hardware.

They also put most of their video card review emphasis on real world performance = actual game performance, instead of 3Dmark crap that most places seem to use.

No No, not [H] Enthusiast, it's just since the actual information was in a quote it didn't show up. I'm saying that it sucks for early adopters, not that [H] sucks. Although I do feel that many members over there are unfriendly

The community is a lot larger that is for sure. I agree that the general forums sections have some real turds. That is why you must buy a subscription to GenMay and hang with the nice/funny members.
