Alien Head Light stopped working

For seemingly no reason, the Alien Head on the back of the screen stopped glowing blue. Everything else about the laptop is properly functioning. I take exceptional care of the machine, cleaning it regularly, never moving it while it is turned on, shutting it down every night, etc. so it may just be a hardware failure.

Does anyone know a possible cause and/or any fixes for this? It isn't a big issue; there is no way I would send the machine in for something like this, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

P.S. The laptop is just over 6 months old.

Try Fn + F11 or F12 or something like that.
