There is more to the numbers than just the numbers. The 360 had some unbelievable games get released in their 2nd year after launch, mainly Halo 3 and Mass Effect. You can only compare last years Holiday (2006-07) with the 360 to this years (2007-08) PS3. If you don't the numbers DO NOT make sense. Why is this concept so hard to understand? And both you and GB have yet to address the numbers I posted. Mainly because you both do not have anything to say about them.

Fact: Every console generation thus far has been won by the first console to sell 10 million units.
Whether that holds or not, as long as PS3 is outsold by the 360 2:1 on a month by month basis or even stays even with it, it will never catch the 360 and hence it loses.
I will concede your point that 360 had a monster library hits this holiday, which may in part count for these holiday numbers, and no doubt that when some PS3 exclusives hit you will see PS3 sales likely overtake 360 for a month or two, but in the end 2 years of market data does not support a conclusion that the PS3 will ever start out selling the 360 to a point were the PS3 will overtake the 360 in overall hardware sales.
Yeah 360 got a year and 5 million unit head start, but hardware sales fluctuations tied to console exclusives just are not enough to overcome the lead the 360 has, even more so when the 360 kills it 2:1 in this years holiday sales, and its not like 360 aint gunna have nemore hardware moving titles to come either.
A few years back I asked my nephew if he wanted an original xbox for his birthday(my treat) he said no, he wanted a PS2 cuz thats what most of his friends had.......
If I asked him again today chances are he's gunna tell me a 360 cuz more people have them....
