This first quarter of 2008 will see to the end of some quite popular pieces of hardware from two companies that have had a great 2007. For starters, as of the end of this month Intel will stop taking orders for the Conroe-based Core 2 Extreme X6800, and Core 2 Duo E6300, E6600, E6700, E6320 and E6420.

In March Intel will also cut the lines of the Core 2 Duo E4400 while GPU giant Nvidia will (finally) stop shipping the GeForce 7300 GT, 7600 GS and the one and only 7600 GT.

Duke, I'm your hardware opposite. I've rarely NOT skipped 2-3 generations of CPUs in between computers I've used.
