XPS m1330 and m1530 graphic cards?

Hi there i haven t been over here since i bought my e1705 nearly 2 years ago...cause everything was working fine... i did not even try to overclock my 7900GS...few days ago my screen started to scramble from time to time and some colors in games changed...i though hmm the graphic card is getting tired of playing cod2 and now cod4.

the bottom of the latop was very hot too... my warranty ends end of May i might "ask" Dell for a graphic card replacement.

anyway to make it shorter...

i m thinking of getting another laptop in the next few month (or sooner if this one crap out)

i m now more on the road/go than i ever been. A heavy 17" laptop is not an option anymore (i only travel by motorcycle).

i m very tempted by the m1330 but its graphic cards is already limited for nowadays games, the 1530 sounds better.

here s my question finally:

do you think a 1530 graphic cards would fit in a 1330?

also what kind of graphic card the 1330 had until now? Do you think it will get something better in a near future?

thx

It really depends on what is most important to you right now. Mobility or gaming sounds like what you are looking at. Both the 1530 and 1330 offer very good platforms from what I have seen in reviews.

The 1330 is no gaming laptop based upon the video card. It would give great performance and mobility. The M1530 will be a little less mobile than the 1330, but way more that the E1705.

I currently have my 1520 with the 8600M GT video card. I switched over from my old 9300 because I was tired of carrying around my heavy laptop. The 1520 does everything I want, except high performance gaming graphics.

Other M1530 owners appear to be happy with the 8600M GT video card with gaming. My video card appears to be lagging behind the 1530 in performance and I really cannot explain that.

I'd recommend trying the 1530 if you need more gaming performance. If you are not satisfied, return it and buy something else. I might be looking at buying the Alienware M15X over the next couple months. It is the only 15.4" laptop on the market with the 8800M GTX video card. I know that it will give me portability and gaming performance that I am looking for in a laptop. It is a little heavier, but nothing is perfect.

There's also about a two pound difference between the two machines to consider. I also commute with a laptop via motorcycle. Are you carrying it in a backpack, or on a rack or in side cases. That extra two pounds takes its toll in a backpack if your commute is long and/or you are regularly in traffic. Of course, you probably already all of this! I decided to add hard cases to the bike so I could stow a helmet and toss in my laptop and gym stuff. The backpack thing gets old after a while.

yeah i also use hard cases but my 1705( plus power adapter, mouse...in a carry bag) takes nearly all the space of one (36liters ) i don t have much room left for clothing and other stuff when i go on a several days working trip....i meant i m cage free

i m not too worry about the 2 pounds...i ride a heavy bike(BMW R100GSPD).

so my best bet is the XPS1530, just need to hang a bit longer to get a proper gaming graphic card... i checked Alienware...they ve been able to stick a 8800 in a 15" screen laptop, Dell should be able to do the same soon...hopefully.

thx for your various help guys.

Nope, that's the best you are going to see, unless they come out with "less wide" technology for a lack of a better term, that thing is really squeezed in there.
