Lifebook S7010/S7020 won't turn on

Hi,

My moms (or soon to be mine) Fujitsu Siemens LB S7010/S7020 (can't remember which one) has some problems turning on. If you're lucky you can cold boot it immediately, but most of the times it starts and does the POST all-fans-on-max thingy. But it doesn't complete the POST, it just keeps POSTing. You can leave it on for hours and hours but nothing will happen. It seems that if you leave it for a day you usually can boot it directly but if you shut it down and after that want to boot it it just won't. It doesn't help to take the battery out and try booting it with the plug in the wall only.

Now does anyone have a clue of what is going on?

. could u get into bios?
. try reseat ur ram
. try reseat ur hard drive

No beeps, and the screen stays black.

i've got the exact same problem after 9 months i bought the system..................i can't seem to get it to boot at all......last time i send it down to fujitsu to get it fix.....it only works for 6 months and after that got back to the same state i can't get it to boot at all now........so i bought a new laptop since my S7010 is pretty much becoming a useless junk, but there's a fix it will definitely help me.......

Hi there,

I had the same problem, but when i connect an expernal monitor the laptop is booting. Further investigation learned that, the laptop start properly when i connect a 1k resitor from Vsync (pin 14) to ground. Its working fine already for 2 weeks.
