Advance Boot Menu (F8)

Is there a reason why my advance boot menu ( F8key ) isn't working. The reason why i need to get into that menu is to get my laptop running windows again according to the gateway service rep... i keep getting an error message with /boot/bcd status 0xc000000d which is forbidding me to log into windows. The only menu i can view is the BIOS which seems completely useless. any solutions?

well if the BCD is trashed you're not going to be able to get to the F8 menu, becuase it doesn't have a Windows to load for it

if you have the Vista disc boot to it and try doing a startup repair
