The customer service experience was great so far. They game me an expected ship date of Mar 30. I called em a couple of time to query the status (since my cc had already paid them). They upgraded my shipping to 1 day air past Friday. I had a nice big white Hypersonic box waiting for me when I got home from work. Opened the Hypersonic box and found a second box with the same thing my 8887's box had on it, the generic "notebook computer" box. It was very nicely packed too. Double-boxed and lots of packing material.
I finally got to the computer. Opened up the bottom. Found where the harddrives and wireless go, placed my 54G, then the two harddrives on top. Closed up that slot. Opened up the RAM slot. Borrowed the 1G RAM (pc2100) from my 8887 which I sold on ebay. It booted and blue screened on hard drive A win2k originally setup for Toshiba 1955-s805 which I sold on ebay with a lesser HD. I swithed over to my other 60G in the BIOS boot order. This was originally for 8887 with XP pro. Blue screen too. I was happy. RAM back in 8887 and shipping out today. Newegg Geil PC3200 1G RAM expected to come in Wednesday. I also have a Toshiba 6112 coming in that same day. Next step, read the guide for 8790 (in this forum somewhere), config it for Raid 0, and do OS from scratch. You didn't think I wanted to fix them BSODs, did you? Be good to clear out all that excess DLL, SYS, etc baggage that tends to accumulate over time anyway. No telling what kind of weasly crap hooks itself into explorer, the registry, SYSTEM32, and all the other orifaces within the bowels of windows anyway.
