XPS M1210 LCD Dead 19 days out of Warranty

I have an XPSM1210 that barely has any hours. Today I installed 2gb of memory re-booted the computer and proceeded to re-run the Vista performance index program. During the process of running the program the lcd went black and never came back on.

I'm not a newbie when it comes to computers but I do believe the LCD Died as if it where the inveter for the backlighting I should still be able to faintly see the screen right?

If I connect to an External monitor everything is fine.

Could be... don't jump to conclusion yet though, try re-seating the display cable first see if that does anything. Instructions:

Just do step 5 & 7 (ie: remove hinge cover, you should be able to see the display flex cable. Unplug that and reseat it)

I have done that a couple times. I have a guy bringing in a 700m hopefully it's the same connector for the screen so I can see if that works

Laptop is fixed. One of the connectors behind the LCD panel was disconnected!
