Random Colors and Bars!

I got a laptop from a friend on mine, and I went though and cleaned out all the junk he had on it an stuff, and it was working fine. And then i restarted it, and now it works, but there are colors and bars all over the screen. Ant idea whats wrong?

does it do it as soon as it turns on? if so video card memory corruption, likely the video card's just overheating, let it cool down and try it again. you may want to clean dust out of the machine. if it persists you may have to replace the video card/motherboard

if its just in Windows then proably just the drivers are corrupted. try it in Safe Mode
