Ram upgrade for amilo m4438g

Hello Everyone

I want to upgrade my m4438g Ram memory from 2x512MB to 2x1GB. In the manual it says that the notebook takes DDR2-533 memory, but i was told that i can use DDR2-667 and this way it will be faster. Is this true? Will the notebook recognise and take full advantage of the DDR2-667 RAM, or will it just use it as if it was DDR2-533? Also, is the process of changing memory on the m4438g easy? Anything i should be weary about - i am really new to this!!

yes and no. ram speed ALONE cannot determine system performance, if anything, faster drive and more ram would make the difference

if mixed, only the lower speed will be recognised

should be simple, just make sure that battery and ac are out, hold the power button for few secs to really discharge. Watch for static
