MacBook Air Release Date

Anyone else hear about the Air being pushed back a week for delivery? I literally just spoke to a rep on the phone who said the preorders are now going to be shipped out on Feb. 7 (a week after most sites have said they'd be available). She also said that they are going to be shipped before the stores get them in stock.

Anyone else hear anything like this? I was going to wait until getting it in the store, but after hearing this I'm thinking about just preordering it online.

Thoughts?

I haven't heard about it but I wouldn't doubt it. Apple usually plays musical dates whenever they release a new product. I wonder if they got more orders than they could handle and either Intel isn't able to produce the custom chips fast enough or Apple's manufacturers aren't able to put the things together fast enough.

Assuming, of course, that the date has been pushed back. Oftimes too, people get their orders shipped before the official date, so...

If you know it's what you want then you'd be better off ordering online, IMO. Depending on demand there's no guarantee that your local store will have one when you go to get it.

Maxrule is the only one I've seen who has ordered one (well, two actually). Said he'd come back and tell us how they are when they arrive.

the faster the air is released the faster we'll see a MBP update
