Dell XPS Gen 2 - GPU most likely dead. Options?

I was playing WoW last week when the game froze up on me and since then I've had excessive tearing on my screen, frequent lockups, and a few blue screens. I've run memtest, reformatted hard drive, and taken apart the laptop and cleaned with compressed air, but the effects are still happening. I have made a video to show exactly what is going on:

Link to Movie

There are horizontal bars spaced .25 inches or so vertically all over the screen and if you see in the beginning of the video the POST screen displays weird artifacts and replaces characters with random symbols.

If you want to read a post by me on another forums describing most everything in detail, you can view that here: User name Goldygoldthegoldfish

So what graphics cards are available for my laptop, and how likely do you think replacing mine will solve my issues? Would I be better off trying to sell my laptop? I'm on a sort of tight budget now, but would rather spend $300 fixing my laptop than building a new computer (case/mobo/cpu/gpu/ram/psu).

If everything else is working, that would indicate a video card replacement should fix the problem. The XPS 2 can fit Dell's version of the 6800 Ultra Go and the 7800 GTX Go, which sometimes pop up on Ebay or in the For Sale forum. Dell also sells the replacement cards, but you might pay a lot more (though you do get a 90 day warranty and the option to return it for a refund if it doesn't fix the problem).

Most people with the XPS Gen 2 are looking for replacement video cards before anything else, so parting your laptop out probably won't get you much cash. Given your budget, the best option is to find a replacement video card. Just be aware that it may only last a year or two...these video cards have a pretty bad track record.

Thank you for the information, I might just try getting one from Dell to see if that fixes it

Wait, if your laptop's warranty is out the GPU warranty don't count. You would get a better piece of mind off of Ebay :P

If your laptop warranty is out, then you get a 90 day warranty on the replacement part.
