yoru bet option is to go onto the hp site and see if it has drivers for windows xp. once again. im not sure of the laptop or not. but it may have what are called proprietary hardware. which means vista only. if it dont have the proprietary hardware then you may have to use nlite to create a windows disk with built in sata drivers. not 100 percent sure.

good thing to do is see if you can find your drivers. then look around on this forums a little and find the thing about downgrading the dv9000 series. it helped me a lot.

google is your best bet on this one. :P

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...645602&lang=en - xp

well i would def look for your hardware in xp. the fact that it dont have it on the hp site dont mean its impossible. but you are def gonna want drivers for your xp. the storage driver isnt going to be helpful at all. defiantly look around for your drivers more.
