Anything that's rated as Draft-N (2.0 spec) capable. I hear Atheros cards are quite good.

Also needs to be paired up with a Draft-N 2.05 router/access point.

My setup currently gives me 130 Mbps.

TRENDNET TEW-631BRP WiFi router and Intel 4965AGN.

Fairly good compatibility, I'd say, though I could theoretically get 200+ Mbps; 130's good enough for no effort that I'm not bothered to try for more.

You had in your notebook the Intel 4965AGN? I need a internal Wifi card for the E1705!

Actually it has to be mini PCIe for the e1705

Yuck, don't get an I4965 as this only does 300Mbps in 11a band, 11g is limited to 144mbps.

Grab you self a Dell 1505 card (or 1500 rev A01) and you'll be much happier.

Atheros 11n cards can be a pain in the butt to get going properly on a 1705.

will a draft n also work on the xps gen2?
Draft N won't work on the XPS Gen 2 at least not the MIMO part. The newer MIMO capable Draft N cards have 3 antenna connectors. The XPS Gen2 only has 2 Wifi antennae.

you must buy a 2.4 ghz antenna, and insert it in the display, i had do this and it works with 140 mbit

you already had two 2,4 ghz antanna in your book

3x 2,4 ghz antenna = draft n

i can send pictures from insert

When you add a card, do you have to do anything special to make the fn+f2 hotkey to work properly? I installed an atheros card in my I9200 that installs as an atheros 5005GS, and now the wifil light stays on even when using the hotkey to try to shut off the wifi. The bluetooth light toggles correctly.

The toggle is embedded in the Dell driver. You're new atheros driver wouldn't have it.

Specifically, what card and antenna did you buy and from where? Can you post the pictures of how you got the other antenna in there. I can dismantle my xps when needed. I just need to see where you placed it in the display panel. thanks!
