AVG installation problems - license number not valid

Hi,

It's my first post. I have been reading this forum for quite a while now and found lots of useful advice here. But I can't find any threads regarding my problem, that's why I've created this one. I would appreciate your help on this, guys.

Yesterday I bought the latest version of AVG Antispyware (full version), as my old license has run out. I received the e-mail from AVG with the link where I could download the program and the new license number. Unfortunately, when I start installation, the set up wizard does not want to accept the license number- I get a message saying ''The license number is not valid. Make sure you put in the correct number etc.''

I copied and pasted the number form the e-mail, so it has to be correct. I also tried typing it in, in case this thing doesn't accept copying/pasting, but it did not help.

I also got a message during the installation that I have other antivirus software installed on the computer and that I should uninstall it before I proceed with AVG installation. Well, I do have Kaspersky Antivirus installed, but it worked fine with AVG Antispyware for the past year, so I don't see how they can't work together now.

. have u tried to re.install it, let it finish, and then going back to enter the key?
. tried to uninstall the current installation first?
. true that avg (or kapersky or any virus apps) always complain about the presence of another - u can ignore the message, or just stick with one
. must u use a paid version? normal free version (av and firewall) performs just as well
