Vostro 1400 questions...

Hey guys, I finally pulled the trigger on a Vostro 1400. I am not doing any heavy gaming and will just use this notebook for internet surfing, 2d apps, etc. For $650 to my door I got a Core 2 Duo 1.4ghz 800mhz, 2gb ram, 128mb 8400 video card, 1400x900 screen, etc.

First off, do you think this notebook will suffice, and did I get a decent deal? Also, I ordered on 1/23 and it has an estimated ship date of 2/4. Is Dell usually well ahead of schedule, because I think that's a bit long of a timeframe. What is your experiences with their estimations? Thanks!

100 bucks less same hardware. 160GB 7200 RPM HDD, 2 GB Ram, 128 MB 8400M, 1.4 Dual Core, Same warranty. Never forget to check the outlet. www.dell.com/outlet

Love mine. I recently swapped out the original Toshiba 120gb drive for a Hitachi 7K2 and it's working nicely. My original config was $679 for:

- 1.6ghz CPU
- 1gb DDR2
- 120gb 5400rpm
- nVidia 8400m
- 1440x900 WXGA+
- Integrated Webcam
- Bluetooth

Changes I've made:

- 100gb Hitachi 7k2 Hard Drive
- 2gb DDR2
- Swapped Dell Wireless for an Atheros AR5005GS Based Card

Runs smooth as buttah. Don't play any newer games, but WoW and Tiger Woods '07 run great for me.
