Duke, I just returned that proc today, and I'm putting my 6600 back in. I tried to OC it and it died, quickly. I can get more power out of the 6600 OC'ed.

Not a bad system,m, whats it running you? Ive seen similar configurations for about 1300-1400 USD.

Duke's a slacker for not BUILDING his own system.

You can technically just price one out on the website

It seems to have ended up at about $3500-$4000

I can't deny this case. It's that good looking. But yes I am slacking big time. But I am however building a shuttle and another computer for video editing. So that's got to count for something.

Bullshit. The CPU ALONE is $1000 and the Case if you buy alone is $300. plus the $300 blu-ray drive.

1500USD

The CPU from 2.4 to 2.66 is 40 dollars. The biggest upgrade was the 8800GT which was 250. I personally would have just gotten a cheaper dedicated and then slapped in something bigger or meaner later on

Dell has the option in the 420 to do a quad core @ 2.4 or for no extra cost, swap it for an E8400 3Ghz

The case, writer and CPU are important. You can't just swap them out for other things and say here's a $1500 machine.

I woulda just built it get to pick all your parts yourself so you get your 790i etc and it would still turn out to be much cheaper. Guess I'd also have just picked more "2nd tier" parts so that they cost a ton less while still being plenty powerful

but hell, if you want it then you got it

still could save you thousands...but yeah not $1500.

Hope your getting a good deal from them Steve with the recent laptop and reviews here. Doubt your paying near cost.

Liked the laptop review, thanks.

Yea no I agree I was just trying to throw in some constructive critisicsm. For a total of 1600, you can get the Blu Ray writer, I just looked. But the CPU and case just come down to your prefs.

Im sure that new system will rock, have fun with it

I've already price both my setups out. The case alone is good enough reason to get it.
